Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
is a partnership of consumers and farmers who are dedicated to a
food system that fosters ecological and human health. In buying
a share of the harvest, consumers actively participate in the benefits,
risks and responsibilities of growing food. Share prices are based
on the cost of production and allow farmers to focus on providing
high quality produce while practicing respectable land use. This
innovative affiliation has many benefits:
 |
Chemical-free vegetables are picked,
cleaned, and in your home within 24 hours. |
 |
Farmers meet their consumers to find out what
they like and how to serve them best. |
 |
Consumers make a connection with the land their
food is grown on and with the farmers who grow it. |
 |
Farmers can employ ecological techniques and
help raise awareness about the importance of sustainability
in the world today. |
From June 1 through November 1, members meet farmers
once a week at a designated site to pick up their share of fresh-picked
produce. Harvests change over the season starting smaller in June
and peaking mid-summer with an average of 11 items offered each
week. We will also provide a newsletter offering tips on using the
produce and keeping you up to date on farm happenings. For families
and couples who enjoy cooking with fresh vegetables, our share size
is just right. If it sounds like too much food, consider splitting
a share with a friend.

will give you an idea of what to expect
